Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson became the second-fastest player to eclipse the 1,500 three-pointer milestone during last night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, taking only 517 games to reach the mark.

The fastest you ask? None other than his backcourt mate Stephen Curry, who did so 40 games quicker.

Trailing by more than 100 games are James Harden — a byproduct of the new era of high-volume three-point shooting — and the all-time three-point king, Ray Allen.

Thompson is having a career-year when it comes to accuracy, shooting 49 percent from the field, 45 percent from deep, and 86 from the free-throw line — coming close to mimicking his teammate's undisputed MVP season, where he put up a blistering 50-45-90 season — the only other player to have done so besides Steve Nash.

Perhaps the only thing more surprising than seeing both of these incredible marksmen topping this shortlist is their consistency, as both Thompson and Curry have managed to shoot 40 percent or better from deep in every single season of their NBA careers.

The Warriors' backcourt has been deemed as the most lethal shooting 1-2 punch in the league, and adding Kevin Durant to that equation has only made it that much more dangerous.

Thompson has struggled in the last couple of games, though, shooting only 4-of-13 from distance against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets. However, his consistency with the deep ball has allowed him to be second in the league with 172 makes this season, despite attempting four fewer shots from distance than Harden, who leads the league with 181 makes for the season.
