It didn't take long before Klay Thompson to make his mark once more. The Golden State Warriors star returned from injury on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers and made some NBA history in the process.

The Warriors star did it during his third quarter heat check run wherein he made three shots in a row, the final one being a history-making three-pointer that was officially the 1,800th triple of his career.

That deep shot put him on a two-man shortlist for fastest players to reach 1,800 threes, doing so in just 615 games. Of course, who else is ahead of him but Warriors co-star Stephen Curry, who did it in just 545 games.

Curry, of course, became the all-time leader in three-pointers made in NBA history earlier this season, passing shooting legend Ray Allen.

Both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson padded their totals in their first game together since 2019. Curry tallied 28 points along with four threes, while Thompson had 17 points with three triples in a 96-82 win over the Cavs.

But if there's one piece of history that both Splash Brothers want from this season, it's to pen their names on yet another NBA championship run. They're in the best position to do just that this season, as they reign atop the NBA's standings. With Klay Thompson back in the fold, they're only going to get better.
