SAN FRANCISCO — Since Klay Thompson returned to the Golden State Warriors' lineup, he has reached milestones left and right. In his first game of the season, he scored his 12,000th point in his career, and he became the second-fastest ever to reach 1,800 3-pointers. The only player to reach that mark faster is Stephen Curry.

Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings, Thompson reached another milestone. After his sixth made shot from deep, the Warriors star passed the late, great Kobe Bryant in 3-pointers made. In his postgame interview, Thompson talked about passing the legendary icon.

“It's always a huge honor. We miss him so much,” the Warriors veteran told ClutchPoints. “He was one-of-one, and he’s my biggest inspiration for playing basketball. I really miss him and Gigi (Bryant).”

Bryant was one of the best to ever play the game of basketball, and he inspired many of the biggest names in the NBA today to be great. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George, and Thompson are a few people Bryant pushed to be the best they can be.

The five-time All-Star passed Bryant while having the best game of his season. The Warriors sharpshooter scored 23 points and handed out seven assists while shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 7-of-9 from 3. Thompson only played 24 minutes in the 126-114 victory over the Kings.

Now, the Warriors will get a short break before heading on the road to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are going into the game with an eight-game win streak and have plans to push it to nine straight as they continue to figure out rotations and roles.
