Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant suffered a potentially catastrophic injury in Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-finals against the Houston Rockets, and people are already fearing the worst for the reigning Finals MVP.

Initial reports have indicated that Durant has suffered a left calf strain. If that's the case, he could miss 1-4 weeks depending on the severity of it. However, there are also speculations about him tearing his Achilles tendon, an injury that could sideline him for up to a year.

Former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal shared his experience about dealing with injuries, saying that it's not going to be easy for KD. He also sent his well-wishes for the 30-year-old All-Star.

Shaq has dealt with various injuries, especially during the latter years of his career. He's played less than 40 games in three of his final five seasons in the league. So he understands how a severe injury could affect not only the morale of Durant, but also of the Warriors as a team.

Durant has been sensational for Golden State in the playoffs, averaging 35.2 points on 51 percent shooting prior to Wednesday's victory over the Rockets. He's clearly the Warriors' best player in the postseason over the past three years, and his absence could hurt their chances of winning their third straight title.

Still, everyone is keeping their hopes up that Durant only suffered a mild calf strain and not a torn Achilles. An update should come out within the next few hours.
