San Francisco, CA – The Golden State Warriors finished off Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night. Each game took a collective effort to take down the reigning MVP and his squad, but Stephen Curry's play, shooting like his old self led the way.
This season Curry had the worst shooting slump of his career, and he shot 38 percent from the three-point line. It was the lowest percentage he's shot, since the 2019-20 season, when he only played five games. At practice Friday morning Warriors coach Steve Kerr said it's possible Curry’s foot injury this season helped his shooting.
Steve Kerr thinks Steph Curry's absence while injured might've helped his shooting.
“Seems like every time he's out for a little bit, he comes back incredibly strong and goes on a tear. So in hindsight, that could have been a blessing in disguise as we headed into the playoffs.”

“I think we've seen this in the past,” Kerr told ClutchPoints. “Last year when Steph got hurt in Houston with the tailbone when he fell back into the stands. I think he missed maybe eight or ten games, and then he came back and had possibly the greatest shooting month in the history of the NBA. If you look at the numbers, they were astonishing.”
After five playoff games, Curry is shooting 50 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from deep. Both are improvements from the regular season when the Warriors sharp-shooter hit only 43.7 percent from the field and 38 percent from beyond the arc.

Injuries are never good, but with Curry, that might not be true.
“I think there's something to that,” the Warriors coach explained. “I think the long grind of the NBA season catches up to everybody… It seems like every time he's out for a little bit, he comes back incredibly strong and goes on a tear. So in hindsight, that could have been a blessing in disguise as we headed into the playoffs.”
