Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors leads the league in fouls in the 2019 playoffs. Per Ben Golliver of the Washington Post, Curry has committed a total of 31 fouls this postseason.

In their last two games against the Houston Rockets, Curry committed a total of 10 fouls — five each game. However, despite leading the league, Curry has never fouled out in a game which attests to his discipline and control.

Curry has been targetted by opposing teams on defense since his size and stature are seen as a liability. Though he has improved his defense over the years, teams would rather match up against him rather than the likes of Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green who all have the size, strength, and speed to match up with any type of player.

It's an unusual statistic since usually, it's the big men who commit tons of fouls over the course of the game. As the last line of defense, there's a high probability that they'll be called for a blocking foul than a no call. Perhaps it goes to show how much teams have studied the Warriors' elite team defense. And one way to break it is by attacking the weakest link.
