While there are questions about the Warriors' ability to get back to championship contention in the coming years, it's no surprise to see Curry sign this extension and get closer to becoming a lifer. It's well-deserved after the best shooter of all time had an MVP-worthy season in 2020-21.

Curry just had one of the best seasons of his career, going for 32.0 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 48.2% from the field and 42.1% from 3-point range. While Curry was a flamethrower all season, the Warriors were uneven without Klay Thompson. Golden State made the play-in tournament, only to lose both games to fall short of the playoffs.
Thompson is set to return in 2021-22, but who knows how he's going to look coming off two serious injuries. The Warriors haven't been able to make a big trade for another star players, instead opting to use their two lottery picks to add to their core. They drafted Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.
Golden State has made some minor moves in free agency, but nothing all that notable. Curry is going to have to work his magic again next season in order for the Warriors to compete in the West. He certainly shouldn't be counted out given the season he just had, but it's going to be a tall order.
Regardless of that, it's awesome that Stephen Curry has agreed to this deal and is setting himself up to be a Warrior for the rest of his career. Perhaps he requests a trade at some point, but he has nothing left to prove to anybody and surely is just enjoying life in the Bay. Let's hope he never switches teams.
