One of the biggest knocks on Stephen Curry's elite resume is his lack of a Finals MVP. The Golden State Warriors star has all the accolades in the world for an NBA superstar. However, Curry has bizarrely not won a single Finals MVP despite playing winning three Finals series.

The tides seem to be changing for Curry, though. The Warriors star is currently the run-away favorite to win the coveted Finals MVP trophy should his team win. Many fans feel like that win would cement his place amongst the league's greatest of all time. For ex-teammate Jeremy Lin, though, Curry doesn't need that hardware to validate his legacy. Lin details his reasons in a thread on Twitter.

Lin simply repeated the same reason many Curry fans believe that his lack of a Finals MVP doesn't hurt his resume. KD joining the Warriors has always been a sore spot for many NBA fans. For a lot of Curry's critics, that move from KD knocks Curry down a peg in the historical list.

As Lin pointed out in his tweets, though, Curry was already a made man before Durant even joined the team. He was far and away the best player on the Warriors during their historic 2016 season. Lin also argues that Steph should've won the 2015 Finals MVP. If you recall, it was given to Andre Iguodala in a rather controversial decision.

Regardless, Curry is well on track to win his first Finals MVP. He had an uncharacteristic off-night in Game 5, failing to hit a three for the first time in his playoff career. However, his excellent carry job should be enough to sway voters to his side should the Warriors win the entire thing.
