San Francisco, CA – Ever since the NBA preseason, Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole has lit up the scoreboard nightly. After about two weeks of productivity, the 22-year-old finally faces his first portion of adversity. How he bounces back from a 9-point performance against the Clippers could set the tone for the rest of the season.

Stephen Curry, who sometimes (but barely) has terrible games, gave the young Warriors sensation some veteran advice.

“I told him plenty of times that you just have to go through the reps of not riding that emotional roller coaster…Over the course of 82, you’re going to find yourself in positions where you’re reading the defense, getting to your spots, knocking down shots, getting loose a little bit a lot more often than a night like tonight,” Curry told ClutchPoints.

Short-term memory is something all the greats developed throughout their career. Poole has seen his fair share of disappointments. He's also shown the ability to remain focused and learn from his mistakes. He takes advantage of every opportunity, and that's going to be significant in his development for the Warriors.

“You just can’t go home and dwell on it. You’ve got to learn from it. You’ve got to watch the film, but there’s no other emotion other than just stick to your program, the work you put in, and good things will continue to happen. That’s the process for everybody going through that,” Curry shared.

The Warriors face De'Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. We'll see if Poole can bounce back from a bad game or if his confidence starts to waver. That's something that Golden State can't afford to happen.
