Golden State Warriors team owner Joe Lacob recently revealed what he believes to be the “greatest deal” the Dubs have ever pulled off. It might come as a bit of a surprise for some folks, but we're pretty sure Stephen Curry will approve of this notion.

Speaking on the most recent episode of The TK Show with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, Lacob shared his thoughts on what he believes is the most significant coup the Warriors have been part of. According to the 65-year-old billionaire, the Andrew Wiggins deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves is what stands out in his book:

“I thought it was one of the greatest deals, certainly maybe the greatest deal we’ve ever done,” Lacob said, via Lee Tran of Fadeaway World. “And one of the best I’ve seen in a long, long time. I thought it was a killer deal. I thought Bob [Myers] did an amazing job. I don’t even know how to put it strong enough.”

Needless to say, Lacob really, really likes this move from the Warriors. As he said in his statement above, it was Warriors president Bob Myers who was the architect of this deal.

It was in February 2020 when the Dubs pulled the trigger on a trade with the Timberwolves that sent D'Angelo Russell and Omari Spellman in the opposite direction. Along with Wiggins, Minnesota also traded two future draft picks to the Warriors, which they cashed in on during the 2021 NBA Draft in the form of Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.

Wiggins has been excellent for the Warriors to start this season, as he has been since joining the Dubs last year. He has been a great fit in coach Steve Kerr's system and has been a perfect complement for Stephen Curry, who himself has been absolutely balling out to start the 2021-22 campaign.
