Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is expecting changes on how the officials will call Game 2 of their 2019 NBA Playoffs second-round series against the Houston Rockets.

Houston Rockets superstar James Harden criticized officials after Game 1 for what he felt were missed calls by the referees. While he did not specifically mention, most fans are convinced that Harden was referring to non-calls on several three-point attempts, where he thinks his defender violated the landing spot rule.

Due to the noise created by Harden's comments towards officiating, Kerr said that the Warriors has to watch out for “quicker whistles” on landing spots calls on Tuesday. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Kerr said that they need to be “vigilant” in terms of fouling Houston's shooters.

The Warriors escaped with a 104-100 win against the Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semis on Sunday night. Houston had a chance to force an extra period, but Harden missed a potential game-tying three-pointer. The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player felt that he was fouled during the based on the landing-spot rule.

Harden said that he wants to get a “fair chance” against the Warriors. The 29-year-old superstar even referenced how a landing-spot incident changed the series between the Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs two seasons ago.

“We all know what happened a few years back with Kawhi,” Harden said via ESPN. “That can change the entire series. Just call the game the way it's supposed to be called, and we'll live with the results.”
