Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr was understandably irate on Thursday following his team's disappointing 119-104 defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks at Chase Center. The multi-titled tactician was particularly peeved with their penchant for over-fouling and giving their opponents easy points from the free throw line.

Kerr definitely didn't hold back on his thoughts after the loss (via Anthony Slater of The Athletic).

While most coaches oftentimes blame officials after tough defeats, Kerr did not make excuses for his team. He wanted his players to be more accountable and make smart decisions defensively. The Warriors actually committed fewer team fouls against the Knicks, 29-26, but the timing of their fouls turned the tide against them in the second half. At one point, the Dubs committed four fouls in just 13 seconds and found themselves over the limit shortly.

The Knicks made them pay, making 32 of their 41 attempts from the charity stripe for 79 percent.

Over-fouling has been an issue for the Warriors throughout the season as they are currently second in the NBA in fouls per game with 23.6. The issue persisted for Kerr and his wards on Thursday as they were already called for 21 fouls with plenty of time left.

It didn't help their cause at all that Knicks rising star RJ Barrett put up a career-best 28 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the field, along with two rebounds, and five assists. Julius Randle also scattered a near triple-double of 16 points, 17 boards, and nine dimes. Stephen Curry, who described their style as “organized chaos,” put up 30 points in a losing effort as the Warriors fell to 8-7.

Steve Kerr could use a drink right now.
