The Golden State Warriors are currently in unfamiliar territory as they have lost their last two games, and had a 0-2 in their short road trip. They were not able to win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, and were once again not victorious on Sunday, when they took on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
That may be the situation they’re facing now, but head coach Steve Kerr is not worried that much about it. He made it known, via a video posted by Anthony Slater of The Athletic, that he only sees it as a tough stretch, and that he continues to be proud of his players. He then added that he’s optimistic that when some of their key pieces return in the coming weeks, they will become better.
“I don’t think about stats. We’re just in the midst of a tough stretch, and I’m really proud of our guys…”
“We’ll get some guys back here hopefully in the next week or two, and very confident with where we’re heading…”
Being the veteran that he is, Steve Kerr understands that this is just a minor hiccup, and he knows what his team is capable of. Having won two championships in the last three years, he has a deeper understanding of what it takes to win it all, and is showing that he is not seeing their current situation as much of a problem to lose some sleep on.
The good news is the Dubs will now return home for their next two games, and will face two teams that have losing records, the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings, on Wednesday and Friday. Winning both outings will be a confidence booster for them, and could get them back to their winning ways, which will prepare them to finish the remainder of the regular season stronger.
