Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised Eric Paschall's stellar performance against the Portland Trail Blazers, using his uncanny wit.

Per Marc J. Spears of ESPN, Kerr said the following about the Villanova product's 34 points and 13 rebounds in a 127-118 win over the Trail Blazers:

Paschall was 11-of-19 from the field, 4-of-6 from downtown, and 10-of-10 from the free-throw line. So far, he's averaging 13.8 points on 61.1 percent shooting from the field.

On a more serious note, Kerr revealed what attracted them to Paschall — their 41st pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He admitted that the 24-year-old was undersized but he had the strength and wingspan to go against much bigger guys in the power forward position. Kerr also pointed out that right from the get-go, Paschall didn't carry himself like a rookie.

“We really like Eric because of his strength, his power. He's undersized but these days, undersized guys at that four position — as long as they're really strong and wingspan — we've seen it here for the last seven or eight years with Draymond Green. So we felt like Eric had a chance to have a similar impact as a second-round pick, somebody you could plug in and play. Particularly because he played four years of college in a great program. Won a national championship. He didn't look like a rookie in the first day of practice.”

So Paschall's breakout performance is not much of a surprise to Kerr and company. Nevertheless, it's a welcome sign that all is not done for the injury-ridden Warriors squad. With Green, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevon Looney out with injuries, this might be the time for Eric Paschall and the others to shine and give the Warriors a semblance of hope.
