Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is glad the NBA has taken measures to stop the spread of coronavirus by suspending the 2019-20 season for the safety of their players, employees, and fans. Yet news of four Brooklyn Nets players — including Kevin Durant — testing positive for COVID-19 rattled many around the league.
The Warriors were slated to face the Nets at home on Thursday, a day after the NBA postponed the season following Rudy Gobert's positive test.
Kerr is hoping none of his players hung out with the Nets the day before their tilt at the Chase Center.
“I’m hoping none of our guys went and hung out with any of their players the night before our game,” said Kerr in a Tuesday conference call with reporters, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “I don’t know if that’s the case or not.”

Durant was also slated to be honored with a tribute from the Warriors on Thursday, but that may not happen until the NBA resumes operations, if they do so at all.
Individual workouts have been recommended by the league, but this pandemic can likely put the season at a halt for several months. That would make any prospect of resuming the season a tough call, considering it would likely spread until August, conflicting with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the NBA Draft, and free agency.
For now, the Warriors are just hoping to stay safe. San Francisco is an outbreak hotbed and Mayor London Breed has ordered its residents to quarantine and not leave their homes except for essential needs.
