The Golden State Warriors haven't made it crystal clear on which top prospect player they'll take with the No.2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. They have, however, alluded a bit as to what they would be looking to get in return if they were to trade that pick rather than use it.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who stopped by to chat with Ian Begley on SNY's “The Putback,” the Warriors will want ready-now talent versus simply trading for role players in exchange for their lottery pick.

“I do think it would be less. I think for Golden State [Warriors], if they’re going to move, it’s more likely in a deal where they’re bringing in perhaps a high-level player that can help them win more now,” said Wojnarowski. “I think they’d be fine with moving down in the draft if there was a really good veteran player they could acquire. I’m not sure that deal is there for the Warriors right now.”

Wojnarowski's tune may very well carry over into draft night. While the Warriors are dangling a No.2 pick, they're also doing it in what has been deemed as a weaker draft class in recent years.

With that, most teams won't be eager at the chance of jumping on the pick while giving up some verified talent.

The Warriors are looking to make a plethora of moves in order to put themselves back to contender status in the Western Conference. While they have some of their top talent in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson returning in full form for the 2020-21 season, they've also lost some significant pieces since their last title run in 2019.

If the Dubs aren't able to trade the pick before draft night, it may be best to look into some high-profile players that can contribute immediately off the bench.
