Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is known for his competitive spirit and sneaky tactics. In Game 5 against the New Orleans Pelicans, Green unleashed both in a single instance by crashing into the opposing team’s huddle.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that a player tried to walk into a huddle of a team. In recent memory, James Harden accompanied Joe Ingles as the latter made his way to the Utah Jazz huddle.

The NBA hasn’t really made formal rules on huddle behavior. But the general and unwritten rule is simple: you can’t just walk into your opponent’s huddle while they’re devising a strategy. The other team, for their part, shouldn’t just allow any person other than their teammates to spy on them.

The Pelicans must win tonight’s game if they want to remain alive. The Warriors, on the other hand, have a commanding 3-1 series lead. A loss won’t hurt their chances. But they have a history of choking in the playoffs.

They’ve learned their lessons for sure. But Green is not taking any chances. Even if it means taking a glimpse of his foes’ entire playbook.
