It’s been over a year since Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder and moved to the Bay Area, but OKC fans remain very much the fond of their former superstar. Despite the rain of boos from disapproving Thunder fans during Durant’s visits to Chesapeake Energy Arena last season and the endless swarm of acerbic comments he’s been getting through social media on a constant basis, you could still say that there are plenty of Thunder supporters who still love Durant.

One could easily tell that from this clip from The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, which shows Thunder fans asking for Durant’s autographs and the chance of posing with him for a picture upon his arrival in the city in preparation for Wednesday’s game against the Thunder.

One fan became so comfortable with Durant’s chumminess that he dared ask the former league MVP to retire as a Thunder. To that, Durant had a funny reply. The fan was looking so far down the road. Durant is just 29 and has many years of basketball left in his tank, so it’s not very timely to decide anything concerning his retirement from basketball today.

That fan must be hoping that Durant will come back to Oklahoma City and play for the Thunder again. That could come next year, though, as Durant can opt not to pick up his player option with the Warriors. Don’t count on it, though, as the 2017 Finals MVP has made it clear before that he intends to stay in Golden State for the foreseeable future.
