The NFL world has been struck by the news of Aaron Rodgers returning to the Green Bay Packers. However, the Washington Football Team made a huge move themselves on Monday. They signed Jonathan to a huge four-year deal worth $72 million to bring back the star defensive tackle.

This is excellent news for Washington, who wanted all along to retain Allen. After the deal was announced, Allen himself took to Twitter and echoed three simple words to show his excitement for the terms.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide star has spent his entire career with the Washington Football Team since being taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft and a reunion always made sense for both sides.

Now, Allen gets big-time money, and Washington can run it back for the foreseeable future as they try and make some noise in the NFC East this season.

With Ryan Fitzpatrick running the show on offense, as well as bringing in wide receiver/hybrid Curtis Samuel, there is a lot to like in Washington.

The NFL season kicks off in less than six weeks and training camps are set to ramp up, and now Washington and Allen can sit back and relax with the new deal in place.
