On Tuesday, the Washington Wizards received some bad news when they learned that their star player, Bradley Beal, will have season-ending wrist surgery.

For the past several seasons, Beal has been a staple of this Wizards squad, and his injury is not what the fans had hoped for.

Bradley Beal had this to say in a Wizards press release, as reported by David Aldridge,

“Despite the last 10 days of getting intensive treatment and rehab on my wrist, it became clear that I would not be able to compete to my standards or to the level that our team and our fans deserve. I'm disappointed to have my season end this way, but we all agreed that this was the best decision. I look forward to coming back at 100% and continuing to lead this team as we work together to build toward the future.”

In his message, he expresses regret for putting the Wizards' supporters through this. Many reports circulated that Bradley Beal may have been moved before Thursday's deadline, but the chances of that happening now are very slim.

If Washington wants to finally sort things out and place guys around Bradley Beal who can help this club win a championship, they'll have to do a tremendous job at this year's deadline.

For the Wizards, the next few days are going to be fascinating, and they must make the correct decisions or they will be in an even worse situation when he returns.
