While former Washington Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas did have quite a remarkable career in the league, it's almost impossible to utter his name without quickly correlating it to the infamous gun incident that he was involved in. In 2009, Arenas allegedly brought a number of unloaded guns to the Wizards locker room — an act that would eventually lead to the beginning of the end for the three-time All-Star.

Unfortunately for Arenas, this is one of the things he is most remembered for — something that the former Most Improved Player winner admitted to be one of his biggest frustrations to date.

“The thing that hurt the most was, you do a hundred things right and one thing wrong, they harp on the one thing wrong,” Arenas says, via Leo Sepkowitz of The Athletic. “No matter how they used my name, it was, ‘locker room gun thing.' ‘He saved 10 babies from a burning building!' ‘Yeah, the guy who brought a gun into the locker room.'”

As a matter of fact, Arenas actually did support a young boy who had lost his home and his family. This was just one of his noble acts, and his generosity is something that his teammates can attest to.

“That's just Gil,” teammate Jason Richardson says. “A lot of people don't understand that it was an era when we didn't broadcast when we did good for people. He was always helping the kids. He's the type of person that was always giving without wanting any of the attention.”

Unfortunately for Arenas, such are the pressures of living in the limelight. Moreover, it's not as if he's completely without fault here, so sadly, this is one terrible mistake that he will need to live with for the rest of his life.
