NXT 2.0 arrives in a meaty patch as WWE 2K22 1.09 rolls out today on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X.

WWE 2K22 version 1.09 Patch Notes

According to WWE 2K22's official website, Patch 1.09 introduces the following major changes:

  • NXT 2.0 Arena
  • Online Entrances
  • Tag Titles and expanded match cards in MyGM

Arguably the biggest feature to arrive in the 1.09 patch is the addition of tag titles in MyGM, as well as additional match cards, allowing for a deeper gameplay experience for the game mode. This also sets a precedence for WWE 2K22 moving forward: Visual Concepts can improve the game's modes further. That means for each and any criticism fans may have had during the game's launch, it now seems that if 2K Games listen hard enough, we can eventually see these changes take place.

Of course, another important addition to the game is its performance improvements. That can't be understated, as the game has grown buggier and buggier as previous patches arrived. Hopefully, this version of the game will be much more stable, and a lot of the bugs could be eliminated in the game, most especially in Universe Mode.

And that's the complete package straight from the horse's mouth. Thankfully, Visual Concepts appear to be hard at work in making this game the best game they've made so far. Many fans were disappointed in the WWE 2K22 Patch 1.08 hotfix that apparently did more harm than good (if fans were to be believed). Hopefully, this new patch won't introduce any new problems to an already messy game. Still, this game remains to be one of the best releases the studio has had for this series so far, and their post-launch patches show great faith in their dedication to the product.

So far, the reception we've seen on social media, streamers, and content creators has been positive, praising how Visual Concepts tweaked MyGM for the better. Still, a lot of work has to be done, as players are still miffed at the fact that many of the game's features from previous entries in the franchise have either been removed or locked behind MyFACTION. The WWE 2K fandom is a very hard crowd to please, and Visual Concepts still has a lot of work to do. But at the very least, the studio has their work cut out for them already. They just need to allot the necessary personnel and resources to the improvement of the game. Until we hear about WWE 2K23, we can expect more and more updates to arrive for this game. After all, there are still a lot of DLC content arriving in the next couple of months, so more features and updates can be expected to arrive as well.

That's it for WWE 2K22 1.09 Patch Notes. See you in the ring!
