XDefiant Season 1 is rapidly approaching and it appears a new Far Cry-inspired map is coming to the game in the near future. As of the preseason, there are 14 maps in the game. According to Ubisoft’s roadmap, Season 1 will see the release of three new maps. The developers never revealed which maps are coming out, however, they accidentally uploaded a teaser video on social media.

XDefiant Teases a Far Cry Map Called ‘Signal’

Sometime in the last week of May, a non-affiliated X (formerly known as Twitter) page known as XDefiant Alerts uploaded a teaser video of the Far Cry-inspired map called ‘Signal’. It didn’t take long until the video got taken down. However, fans quickly saved the video and immediately reuploaded the video on Reddit.

While many call say that Signal takes inspiration from Far Cry, it’s more than likely that Ubisoft will label the map as part of the Far Cry universe. Each current faction in the game has their own maps from their universes. Plus given the vibrant colors and the post-apocalyptic designs, it’s safe to assume that the map is particularly from Far Cry New Dawn.

Based on the video, it seems that Signal will most likely be an Escort and Zone Control map. However, given the tight spots that surround the map, it’s also possible it could be designed for Domination, Occupy, and Hot Shot. Considering how the developers didn’t officially upload the teaser video themselves, we aren’t entirely sure what their plans are for Signal.

Take note that Ubisoft already launched the upcoming three maps for XDefiant Season 1. None among those three featured the Far Cry map. That means Signal will most likely launch at a later date. However, there’s also a slight possibility that the developers could scrap the idea entirely. For now, all fans can do is wait and hope they push through with it.

Other Features Coming to XDefiant

XDefiant Season 1 will launch sometime around July 2, 2024. From the time of this writing, we are exactly three weeks away until the preseason’s conclusion.

After the success the free-to-play first-person shooter achieved in less than a month, fans are now craving for more content. Thankfully, Season 1 will offer three new maps and weapons. In addition to those is a new faction and another battle pass.

The three new maps will be released within a span of three months. One map will launch per month starting with Clubhouse, followed by Daytona, and will end with Rockefeller.

Characters from the Rainbow Six Siege universe are also making their way to XDefiant. Initially codenamed Ruby, GSK is charging their way to the game. Capture the Flag mode is officially launching as well in Season 1.

In addition to these features are new modes. Seeing as how XDefiant is competitive in nature, fans have been dying to put their skills to the test in a match with higher stakes. Thankfully, everyone can expect Ranked mode to launch in Season 1. Based on the season reveal trailer, it appears that there’ll be six tiers for players to climb in Ranked mode.

Alongside the competitive mode will be new modes such as Arena, Progression, Private Matches, and Caster Cams. Private Matches and Caster Cams are perfect for setting up local tournaments.
