The XFL recently announced its first signing in quarterback Landry Jones. It appears they have now revealed what the rest of their league will look like.

The XFL has officially introduced the eight teams that will be kicking things off in 2020, via ESPN's Field Yates:

Official XFL team names:
* Dallas Renegades
* DC Defenders
* Houston Roughnecks
* Los Angeles Wildcats
* New York Guardians
* Seattle Dragons
* St. Louis BattleHawks
* Tampa Bay Vipers

The second iteration of the XFL will be hoping to do much better than their first stint in 2001 during their attempts to compete with the NFL. Unfortunately, the league ultimately folded due to the underwhelming product they were putting on the field. Of course, there were a few innovations that came of it that have managed to stand the test of time.

Vince McMahon and Alpha Entertainment have indicated that there will be much more emphasis on the football aspect of things this time around. He seemingly managed to solidify that notion by hiring Oliver Luck as the league's commissioner while teasing some potential upgrades to the game to make things more entertaining for the fans.

The XFL is slated to have its draft at some point in October. They are hoping that the signing of Jones will open things up for other quality players to join up. McMahon is looking to capitalize on the absence of football in the offseason by starting the regular season a week after the Super Bowl.

TheAAF failed to conclude its inaugural season last year. It will be interesting to see how long the XFL lasts this time around.
