New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter is getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Jeter came just one vote shy of becoming the second unanimous first-ballot Hall of Famer in history, with longtime teammate Mariano Rivera the first.

It's still unknown just who didn't give Jeter their Hall of Fame vote. The Yankees great took a little jab at the anonymous person during his induction speech at Cooperstown:

Savage stuff from Derek Jeter.

Baseball Hall of Fame voting is pretty weird. It's patently ridiculous that Rivera is the only player to ever be a first-ballot Hall of Famer with 100% of the vote given all the other great players out there. Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson and Greg Maddux are next on the list after Jeter, and all those guys should have been unanimous. There are plenty others as well, including all those old greats from the 20th century.

While some rightfully suggest Jeter is a bit overrated, he too should have received 100% of the Hall of Fame vote. Overrated or not, his resume as a baseball player speaks for itself, even if the job he has done as Miami Marlins CEO hasn't exactly been sparkling.

In 20 MLB seasons with the Yankees, Jeter won five World Series, won Rookie of the Year, was an All-Star 14 times and won five Gold Gloves, plus five Silver Slugger Awards. He was also a consistent presence in the MVP race, even though he never won one. The legendary shortstop hit .310 for his career and racked up 3,465 hits in the regular season. He also hit .308 in the playoffs and owns plenty of incredible postseason moments.

Derek Jeter has every right to take jabs at the goofy writer who didn't vote him in as a Hall of Famer.
