Giancarlo Stanton was the brightest star on MLB's flashiest night of the season. The New York Yankees took home the All-Star Game MVP award honors at Dodger Stadium, in what is perhaps a Hollywood script in the making.

Stanton hammered a two-run blast to left field that tied the game at two runs apiece, in what became a symbolic moment for the hulking outfielder.

The setting was as meaningful as it gets for Stanton, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He detailed that the exact spot he hit the home run was where he used to sit and the outfield spot he played at was the one he'd ask to toss him baseballs. Now he's the one doing the throwing – and hitting – into the stands.

“I'd always sit in left field,” said Giancarlo Stanton after receiving his trophy. “Come and try to scalp tickets, whatever we could afford. To sit out there in left field and to be playing left field and hit one out there is incredible to me.”

It was certainly a heartwarming moment for the Stanton family at large, who cultivated his love for baseball at a young age and now culminated to him doing them proud at Dodger Stadium.

“My pops took me to my first Dodgers game. Showed me how to have love for this game. And now, we're here. This is incredible.”

Giancarlo Stanton ended up playing for a rival franchise from the opposite conference and on the other side of the country entirely. But fate has mysterious ways of making things happen sometimes.
