Considering the Atlanta Falcons are in a restructuring state, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to step up and deliver for this team. It might be a tough season ahead, but at least the franchise is making moves to generate better production on the field in the coming years. With plenty of new faces on the roster, we look at two hidden gems to emerge for the Falcons in the 2022 season.

The rushing attack should maintain relevancy, especially with Cordarrelle Patterson leading the way. However, we should expect to see more than one running back share the workload, as the Falcons utilized a solid committee approach last season. For that reason, keep an eye on one of these backup options to play a vital role.

Meanwhile, the passing game might be lacking. It's unclear how Marcus Mariota will do back under center, but it's not like he has a great receiving core at his disposal. Kyle Pitts and Drake London are in line for big years, but one more wide receiver on the Falcons roster could become an unsuspecting bright spot for the franchise.

With that said, here are two hidden gems on the Falcons roster for the 2022 NFL season.

Falcons Hidden Gems On 2022 Roster

Tyler Allgeier

The fifth-round rookie landed in a favorable situation, as Atlanta lacks depth at running back. Sure, Patterson is in line to be the starting option, but Tyler Allgeier can serve as a strong rotational backup for the Falcons. After finishing his collegiate career strong, many see him as a potential starting running back in the NFL.

He took over the starting role at BYU in 2020 and proved to be reliable in the backfield for two years in a row. By the time he left college, Allgeier racked up 2,899 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns off of 452 rush attempts. His 6.4 yards per carry average makes him an intriguing rookie for the Falcons.

Typically, fifth-round rookies are a long shot to make an impact in their rookie season. Regardless, Tyler Allgeier aims to defeat the odds. He should be the immediate backup behind Cordarrelle Patterson to start the season, which bodes well for his career outlook. If he can string together a strong training camp, the Falcons might just have the one-two punch in the backfield they're looking for.

Bryan Edwards

Bryan Edwards never could get things going with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he's been given new life after being traded to Atlanta. He has all of the tools necessary to shake things up in the league, but for one reason or another, it hasn't come to fruition. Now, he finds himself with the Falcons where he is in line to be one of the main starters in the offense.

He flashed sporadically during his time in Las Vegas but could never be consistent. Although that's true, it could all turn around for Edwards in the 2022 season. With Marcus Mariota under center, Bryan Edwards has a chance to be a major factor for this offense. He has plenty of experience working with Mariota, which gives Edwards a leg up for training camp. If he can prove to be reliable, the Falcons' pass game could be much better than anticipated.

We'll see how it plays out, as the former Raiders receiver still must prove himself. He is ultra-athletic and was capable of earning legitimate playing time in Las Vegas. Considering the Falcons don't have many other options at wide receiver, now is the time for Bryan Edwards to step up and become a reliable pass option.
