The Miami Dolphins are in position to draft a quarterback. This is a draft class with a lot of options and Miami is hoping that they can take their next franchise guy. They have been linked to Tua Tagovailoa since the beginning of college football season but could they call an audible and go with Justin Herbert?

The Dolphins currently hold the No. 5 pick in the draft. Joe Burrow is expected to go first to the Cincinnati Bengals. This means that the Dolphins could choose from the rest of the pack, unless someone makes a trade into the top three. Here are two major reasons why the Dolphins could opt to go with Herbert over Tagovailoa when the time comes.

2. Best Arm Talent in Draft?

All of the hype is surrounding Burrow and what he was able to do at LSU. He has earned the No. 1 overall selection, but Herbert may have the best arm talent in the draft. Herbert put on a show during the Senior Bowl. His accuracy and arm strength were on full display in front of NFL scouts. Herbert threw for 32 touchdowns and six interceptions as a senior. He ended his career with a Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin.

Herbert leaves Oregon as a four-year starter. He has the experience and ability to be successful at the next level. Also, the Dolphins are the team that has done the most work on Herbert. They seem to still be deciding who they will take with their first selection.

1. Injuries

This is the obvious one. Tagovailoa was a candidate to go first overall until he began to run into injury problems. It began with an ankle injury that was re-aggravated from 2018. His year ended against Mississippi State when he suffered a hip injury. Tagovailoa decided to enter the draft in hopes that he will be ready for camp.

The injury that Tagovailoa sustained is serious. It is definitely something that could steer an NFL team away from using a top-five pick on him. Tagovailoa is still a first-round pick and will most likely land in the top-10. The Dolphins have options and could choose to go another direction if they are worried about his long-term health.

Tagovailoa's injury was devastating. He is a great talent who could have a bright future in the NFL. It will be interesting to see what team decides to take a chance on Tagovailoa. If not Miami, there are teams below that no doubt will look for quarterbacks.
