The Philadelphia 76ers have selected Tyrese Maxey with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Tyrese Maxey played his college ball at Kentucky. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 14.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 31 games while shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from beyond the arc and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Maxey, like most Kentucky players, only needed one season in college to showcase his talent to NBA scouts. He made the All-SEC second-team and the All-Freshman team. His best game for Kentucky came on December 28, 2019 against Louisville. The Texas native poured in 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor, all while also shooting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, 5-of-6 from the free-throw line and racking up seven rebounds in Kentucky's eight-point win.

The 20-year-old has a 6-6 wingspan. He’s got a quick release on his jump shot and did well at Kentucky when he was asked to create his shot off the dribble, something every guard has to do in the NBA if they want to survive.

Around the rim, the combo guard has a solid touch on his floater and will get better at finishing in traffic as he gets stronger.

Moving forward, Tyrese Maxey has to improve his 3-point shooting so teams don't treat him like Ben Simmons. Overall, though, he should have a sound rookie season with the Sixers.
