And just like that, we are now in Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season. With that said, it's time to check in on some of the key injury reports to help you make that crucial fantasy football decisions ahead of Sunday's games.

QBs

Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa (Out): Tagovailoa will not be on the field in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders after injuring his rib in Week 2’s crushing loss to the Buffalo Bills. In lieu of Tagovailoa, the Dolphins will turn to Jacoby Brissett, who will be making his first start of the season.

Bears’ Andy Dalton (Out): Chicago is now forced to start rookie quarterback Justin Fields after Dalton has been declared out with a knee injury. Fields will get a Cleveland Browns defense that has allowed the third-most quarterback fantasy football points after two weeks of football.

Colts’ Carson Wentz (Questionable): Wentz’s status is still up in the air for Week 3’s game against the Tennessee Titans on the road. If he can’t go, it’s likely going to be Jacob Eason orchestrating Indianapolis’ offense Sunday.

Ravens’ Lamar Jackson (Questionable): Although he’s listed as questionable because of an illness, Jackson returned to practice on Friday and is virtually a lock to start against the porous Lions defense that’s second-worst so far this season in scoring defense.

Possible replacements: Dolphins’ Jacoby Brissett (vs. Titans), Justin Fields (vs. Browns), Daniel Jones (vs. Falcons), Jared Goff (vs. Ravens)

RBs

Rams’ Darrell Henderson Jr. (Questionable): Henderson sustained a rib injury in Week 2 against the Colts, putting his availability this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in jeopardy. In any case, the Rams will be up against a tough Bucs defense that’s giving up just 57.5 rushing yards per game.

Vikings’ Dalvin Cook (Questionable): Cook did not join Minnesota practices this week, but Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer appears to be leaning towards the belief that the team’s bell-cow running back will play against the Seattle Seahawks’ defense that just got obliterated by Derrick Henry.

Seahawks’ Rashaad Penny (Out): Speaking of the Seahawks, Chris Carson should dominate the touches in the rushing attack again for Seattle, with his fantasy football handcuff in Penny out for the second week in a row because of a calf problem.

49ers’  JaMycal Hasty (Out): Hasty hurt his ankle in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

49ers’ Elijah Mitchell (Doubtful): The banged-up 49ers’ backfield is also dealing with an injury to Mitchell (shoulder) who managed to return to practice on Friday. He could be a true game-time decision.

49ers’ Trey Sermon (Active): The good news for the Niners is that Sermon has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocols, so he’ll be good to go against the Green Bay Packers.

Possible replacements: Sony Michel (vs. Buccaneers), Alexander Mattison (vs. Seahawks), Jacques Patrick (vs. Packers),

WRs

Falcons’ Russell Gage (Out): Matt Ryan will be down a weapon downfield, with Gage declared out because of an ankle problem. Gage has been a nonfactor so far in fantasy football, at least, as he only has five catches on nine targets for 28 receiving yards.

Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins (Questionable): The Cardinals have a tasty matchup in Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Nuk might not be part of that game with a rib injury.

Browns’ Odell Beckham Jr. (Active): The big news for the Browns in Week 3 is that OBJ is finally set to make his season debut Sunday against the Bears.

Browns’ Jarvis Landry (Out): While the electrifying Beckham will be on the field Sunday, he will not be lining up across his buddy, Jarvis Landry, who’s ruled out because of a knee issue. It’s also worth noting that the Browns have a couple of questionable pieces on the offensive line in JC Tretter and Jedrick Wills Jr which could affect fantasy football decisions.

Steelers’ Diontae Johnson (Out): Johnson suffered a knee injury after trying to complete a catch in a meaningless play towards the end of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 26-17 home loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.

Cowboys’ Amari Cooper (Active): Fantasy football owners of Cooper can now breathe. Cooper’s ribs are fine after he hurt it and exited Week 2’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Ravens’ Marquise Brown (Questionable): Brown is listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Lions, but he’s trending towards an active status after appearing in practice on Friday.

Possible replacements: Rashard Higgins (vs. Bears) James Washington (vs. Bengals), Cole Beasley (vs. Washington Football Team), Marvin Jones (vs. Cardinals)

TEs

Giants’ Evan Engram (Questionable): Engram (calf) has yet to play a game this season, but he’s got a shot at making his 2021 debut in Week 3 against the Falcons. The 27-year-old tight showed some promise for his availability this week when he practiced on Wednesday and Friday, albeit in a limited capacity. Even if he plays, it's probably best to leave him on fantasy football benches.

Eagles’ Zach Ertz (Out): Ertz is out for Monday night’s showdown with the Cowboys after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Titans’ Anthony Firkser (Out): Firkser will be missing his second game in a row due to a knee injury.

Jaguars’ James O'Shaughnessy (Out): O'Shaughnessy will be out for the next several weeks, as an ankle injury has caused him to be placed on the injured reserve.

Possible replacements: Jack Doyle (vs. Titans), Dalton Schultz (vs. Eagles), Maxx Williams (vs. Jaguars)
