DeVonta Smith enters the NFL draft as one of the most polarizing players available. After becoming just the fourth wide receiver in college football history to win the Heisman trophy, some general managers are still nervous about his potential at the pro level. It's no question Smith dominated college football last season, posting a ridiculous stat line of 117 receptions, 1,856 yards, and 23 touchdowns.

A receiver going two consecutive seasons receiving for over 1,000 yards is typically a rookie both scouts and general managers would drool over. However, after weighing in at just 166 pounds, the Alabama prospect has some teams concerned, per the Miami Herald.

It's no question that DeVonta Smith is small for the NFL. The worry of how he can handle big hits, pushing bigger corners off the line of scrimmage, and his overall longevity are all in question when observing DeVonta Smith. With many doubts surrounding the prospect receiver and some teams out, the Miami Dolphins might be ignoring the red flags altogether, according to the Miami Herald.

“The concerns about Smith weighing 166 pounds, according to Sports Illustrated, at his Indianapolis medical check-in last week may be a concern to the couch general managers. But it isn’t a worry for the Dolphins.”

Smith is a dangerous receiver that torched every opponent he faced last year. It's interesting to see that his weight is playing such a factor in his perception of NFL scouts. If he were 30 pounds heavier, he'd likely be viewed as the top receiver in the draft this year. We'll see where he eventually goes, as the NFL draft starts on April 29th. Will the Dolphins pull the trigger and draft him? Or will another team select him? Only time will tell.
