The 2022 College World Series is upon us, and the tournament field has been trimmed down from 64 to just eight teams left. They've all taken their own unique path through the regionals and super regionals to find their way to Omaha. Glory and a National Championship are just a few wins away for each of the remaining schools.

Bracket 1 houses the likes of Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. Their first matchups will be on Friday, with Oklahoma and Texas A&M kicking things off at 2PM EST on ESPN. Following that tilt between the Sooners and Aggies, Texas and Notre Dame square off at 7PM EST, also on ESPN. Bracket 2 contains Ole Miss, Auburn, Arkansas, and Stanford. Bracket 2 starts on Saturday at 2PM EST on ESPN with Arkansas and Stanford, followed by Ole Miss and Auburn at 7PM EST on ESPN2.

Why Each Team Could Win The 2022 College World Series

If the oddsmakers like Stanford the most, should you? Here's a reason every team left in the field can win it all.

Stanford is the highest remaining seed in the field, having been the number two ranked team in the country on Selection Day. They bring to Omaha a team who has hit a staggering 118 homers in 2022, having only given up more than five runs twice all postseason, and one was a 20-7 blowout of Binghamton. Stanford also made it to Omaha last year but took their leave after just three games. They'll be hoping to right that wrong this season.

Texas brings Omaha experience. They are one of the most dangerous offenses in college baseball and the preseason number one team in the country. Don't think that just because they didn't stay there that the talent disappeared … because it hasn't. They were nearly eliminated in the Super Regionals but saved their season, and now enter Omaha with a chip on their shoulder after last year's semifinal exit to eventual champions Mississippi State.

Notre Dame has already shown they're not afraid to take it to anybody, after dispatching the number one ranked Tennessee Volunteers in the Super Regional. That kind of win should only amplify the confidence of a Fighting Irish squad who have only given up more than four runs in a game twice this postseason, both to the aforementioned Vols.

Arkansas may have destiny on its side. After appearing to be the clear favorite to win the National Championship at times in 2021 before bowing out in the Super Regionals, the Razorbacks came back to the postseason with a vengeance, having scored 56 runs en route to Omaha. If they can keep that scoring clip up while keeping the other team off the board, they should be in a great position to do what they were unable to last season.

Texas A&M enters the College World Series with SEC-leading run production along with more than capable pitching. They had a few speed bumps during the season, but still won the SEC West convincingly, and were keeping up with Tennessee late in the year. Their last trip to Omaha came in 2017, and after a near-complete roster revamp, this is a completely different Aggies team than last year. If they can keep things steady, this team can beat anyone.

Auburn scored runs for fun in the Regionals, putting up 19, 21, and 11 runs respectively. That production cooled down significantly in the Super Regionals, but if the Tigers can get their bats back on form, they present a threat as much as any team left in the field. Sure, some of their SEC counterparts who also made it to Omaha posted better stats in conference play, but none of that matters now. All that matters is that Auburn is winning games, and they're scoring a whole lot.

Ole Miss may very well be the hottest team in the country right now. Having outscored opponents 46-11 this postseason while also getting superhuman pitching efforts from junior Dylan DeLucia and true freshman Hunter Elliott, the Rebels have found the perfect mix of batting and pitching that they so desperately lacked for much of the regular season. They're playing with house money as the 64th team of 64 selected to the postseason field, and that doesn't bother them one bit.

Oklahoma makes the 471-mile trip north to Omaha after snatching the Big 12 tournament title, along with defeating more than capable opposition in #13 Florida and #4 Virginia Tech en route to the College World Series. Before that, they also won each of their last five regular-season series. That makes them along with the other team at the bottom of the odds list in Ole Miss, two teams on an absolute tear at just the perfect moment.

2022 College World Series Prediction

Any one of these teams would be a solid pick and would return good money if they win. Ole Miss and Oklahoma both potentially present the highest risk/highest reward bets, as both share +950 odds while being red hot in all phases of the game. At the other end of the spectrum, Stanford, Texas, and Arkansas are very safe bets to make as well. Given the current odds, and that the College World Series is double elimination, there really isn't a bad bet to place. However you spend your money, you stand a good chance of making it back and then some. However, … looks like the team to beat.

2022 College World Series Prediction: Stanford +450
