The NFL Draft is a mere 48 hours away! In only a matter of time, the Chicago Bears will be on the clock to kick off the draft festivities with the number-one overall pick. Until then, all there is to do is speculate and try to project where each tantalizing prospect will end up playing his professional football. Get ready folks. Let the drama begin! Join us for our NFL Draft series where our Brock Bowers team prediction and pick will be made.

Playing his college ball at the University of Georgia, it didn't take long for Bowers to leave his fingerprints all over the football field. Although hampered by injuries from time to time, one could make the argument that no player in college football was as dominant at his position as Brock Bowers. During his three seasons in Athens, Bowers was a mismatch nightmare and quickly demonstrated his ability to be an effective blocker and dynamic pass-catcher. Showing shades of Rob Gronkowski in blocking schemes while giving off Travis Kelce vibes with the football in open space, Bowers amassed a whopping 2,538 receiving yards with the Bulldogs including hauling in 26 receiving touchdowns. With a rare blend of acceleration, speed, body control, and overall athleticism, there is a decent chance that Bowers ends up being the certified NFL Pro Bowler at the tight end position.

2024 NFL Draft Odds: Brock Bowers Team Odds

Cincinnati Bengals: +900

Chicago Bears: +1000

Why The Jets Could Select Brock Bowers

With AR-12 finally healthy after his devastating Achilles injury, the “lethalness” of a Rodgers-Bowers connection through the air is a terrifying sight. In 2023, New York depended on the likes of Tyler Conklin who did experience a solid season en route to 621 receiving yards on 61 catches, but he was held out of the end zone all season long. Simply put, that won't be the case for Bowers. To put it lightly, Bowers is a touchdown machine and would automatically become one of New York's biggest red-zone threats with Aaron Rodgers pulling the strings under center.

Obviously, the Jets could also end up taking a wide receiver with the tenth overall pick in the NFL Draft to bolster the offense, but if a few of the top guys are taken off the board within that position group already by the time New York is on the clock, then Bowers makes a lot of sense here.

Why The Colts Could Select Brock Bowers

After narrowly missing out on the postseason fun with a 9-8 record, there is no question that Indianapolis does not want to be left outside in the cold for a second straight season. Ranking only 24th in explosive plays a season ago, the Colts need more weapons offensively and Bowers fits that mold perfectly. With the 15th pick in the first round, the biggest obstacle that Indy is going to have to overcome is possibly trading up when the organization is short on draft picks as it already is.

Overall, the Colts enter the NFL Draft with a total of seven picks with only four teams possessing fewer than that mark. At first glance, it might be unrealistic to expect Bowers to fall to 15, so if the Colts truly want him bad enough, then GM Chris Ballard may have to push all of his chips to the center of the table.

Why the Bengals Could Select Brock Bowers

Picture this… it's a cold, bitter, afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium in a postseason showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals. With a chance to clinch a berth to Super Bowl 59 on the line, the stakes are at an all-time high. With possession of the football in the final minutes, QB Joe Burrow drops back to pass and throws an absolute dime to tight end Brock Bowers in the corner of the end zone. As the referee spreads his arms vertically to signal a touchdown, the crowd within the confines of Arrowhead falls silent as the Bengals advance to their second Super Bowl in four years.

Believe it or not, but this dream could possibly come true if Cincinnati ends up selecting Bowers with the 18th pick in the NFL Draft. Heading into the 2024 season, there are a few question marks surrounding the Bengals roster, but they would benefit greatly with another weapon offensively at the disposal of Joe Burrow. Although current projected starter Mike Gesicki is no slouch, the ceiling that Bowers presents for this offense may be far too great for the Bengals to pass up on draft night.

Why the Bears Could Select Brock Bowers

All in all, Bears fans have had to trust the process and the overall plan orchestrated by GM Ryan Poles, but the pieces are finally starting to come together in the Windy City. Evidently enough, the general consensus among draft enthusiasts is that Chicago will be selecting generational prospect Caleb Williams with the first pick, but the next order of business is trying to figure out what the Bears do when they are on the clock eight picks later. Equipped with two top-ten picks provides a surplus of possibilities for Poles and his team.

After acquiring wideout Keenan Allen in a blockbuster move to pair him with superstar D.J. Moore, Chicago's front office could decide to go all in supplying Caleb Williams with an unbelievable supporting cast. The opportunities are endless entering the first round of this draft which is a dream scenario for the Bears, and even though Chicago already possesses the likes of tight end Cole Kmet, doubling down in this positional group would be a terrifying thought for the rest of this league.

Final Brock Bowers Draft Position Prediction & Pick

With the two-time Mackey Award winner's selection range beginning at around the tenth pick, there is no question that any of the four teams above could end up taking Bowers with their first-round picks. However, the best fit for Bowers seems to be in the Big Apple under the city lights of New York. All in all, giving Aaron Rodgers a surefire weapon on offense is never a bad idea.
