Life is good right now for the Golden State Warriors. Lined up to play the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night in their first game since All-Star weekend, they come out of the break at the top of the Western Conference. Their 41-16 record has earned them the number one seed and they are two games ahead of the Denver Nuggets.

The Warriors will look to keep this lead by doing more of the same. Through the last 15 games in the league, they have been the best team in the West statistically by a solid margin. Scoring 116 points per 100 possessions, their offensive rating is number one in the league and earns them the second-best net rating in the league of 6.9. They are also top 10 in the league in just about every counting stat.

With only 25 games left, the time between now and the playoffs is running out. As they aim to finish the season strong and on the way to their fourth consecutive title, there are just a few questions that need to be sorted out for the Golden State Warriors.

DeMarcus Cousins, Draymond Green

3. Who will they add from the buyout market?

The Warriors have remained adamant on supplementing their roster depth with additions from the buyout market. They have been in search of an extra center to slot into the rotation with DeMarcus Cousins and Kevon Looney but have limited options. A player like DeAndre Jordon or Robin Lopez, who can provide serious rim protection would be ideal, but neither player needs to be headed towards a buyout.

There are other big men on the market that the team could keep their eye on. Greg Monroe would definitely offer some size and post scoring ability, while Zach Randolph should have just enough left in the tank to provide some grit and veteran leadership. As of right now though, Marcin Gortat seems to be their best option, and he has definite interest in signing with the team.

Golden State could even decide they would rather bring in a wing player like Omri Casspi or Alex Abrines, but either way, the team is running out of time to decide.

2. Can Draymond improve his shooting before the playoffs start?

Draymond Green has never been a particularly great shooter, but this season his stroke has taken a significant downturn. This season he is averaging an abysmal 23.3 percent from deep on just 2.5 attempts. He hasn’t scored more than one 3 pointer a game since Jan. 16 and has only done so five games all season.

The addition of Boogie means that the Warriors’ best lineup is no longer one that features Draymond at center. This means that he will spend less time around the basket and much more time in the wings and around the perimeter. If he isn’t able to hit shots and help spread the floor, he will become a liability for the team’s offense.

Green is currently shooting 24 percent on his open 3-pointers, which make up 35.4 percent of all his 3-point attempts, per NBA.com. He will have to find a way to get some sort of a reliable shot back if the Warriors are looking to have quick journey to the NBA Finals.

1. Can they tune out the noise?

There hasn’t been much on the court that has gotten in the way of this Golden State Warriors team. When they are locked in and focused, they haven’t had any issues and look like the best team in the league. The times when they have looked their most vulnerable is when they look like a dynasty that is fraying apart. The more they let distractions from the outside noise get to them, the harder it will be for them to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy come June.

Kevin Durant’s free agency has been a wild ride, and we aren’t even close to summertime yet. In addition to KD, talks about Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins, who will both hit the free agent market in the offseason, will surely heat up as the season end draws near. Draymond Green will be eligible for an extension this offseason and was previously vocal about desiring a max level extension.

The Golden State Warriors front office has their work cut out for them moving forward, and with a new arena awaiting them, there is probably at least some level of anxiety surrounding their future. However, if they can focus on the present and tune everything else out, they can probably go ahead and start mapping out their parade route.
