By the third quarter, the game was pretty much out of reach, but you don't usually sit your starters at halftime. That meant Thompson had a little more time to make history, and that's what he did. Klay Thompson ended the game scoring the most points in a game with fewer than 30 minutes played, with 60 points. The thing that made this milestone so savage is that he did it with only dribbling the ball 11 times.
2. Thompson breaks Steph's record
Coming into a game early in the season in 2018 versus the Chicago Bulls, Thompson was struggling from deep. He was 5 of 36 entering the game, which is good for 13.89%. Everyone knew it would be a matter of time when Klay Thompson got out of this shooting slump, and boy did he do just that.
At the time, Stephen Curry held the record with 13 made threes in a game, but after Thompson started this game, 8 of 9 from deep by the second quarter, history was on the verge of changing. The Bulls could do nothing to slow down, and neither could clashing heads with his teammate. Klay Thompson quickly patched up his new head wound and covered it with the Jackie Moon style headband, and continued the savagery.
When Thompson reached 12 threes, it only fitted that Curry, the record holder, would give him the assists that allowed him to tie his record(13). Then with nearly five minutes left in the third quarter, Klay Thompson broke Curry's record with his final bomb of the night, giving him 14.
1. 37 points in one quarter vs. Kings
The Warriors were in a tie game against the Sacramento Kings in the third quarter. The score was 58 apiece with nine minutes and fifty seconds left. That's when Klay Thompson scored his first points of the quarter. It was the beginning of him becoming the King's nightmare.
The Bay Area star single-handedly took over the game. He did any and everything he wanted to do. He put together a performance that's almost impossible to duplicate on NBA 2k. Klay Thompson didn't miss a single shot in that quarter, shooting 13-of-13 and 9-of-9 from deep. The game went from being even at 58 to a 97-73 Warriors lead going into the final quarter. Unquestionably this was the most savage moment of Thompson's career.
There aren't many players that can do what Thompson does. It might even be fair to say nobody can do it as he can. These were three of the most impressive performances in NBA history, and you have to be a savage even to imagine having games like these.
