It has been a turbulent season for PSG this year.

After bringing over Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lionel Messi in the same window, PSG rebounded to win Ligue 1 again after dropping it to Lille last season. However, a 17-minute collapse versus Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 means that European silverware is still a dream for the French team.

They will be back to challenge next season, but PSG needs reinforcements. To help them, here are three moves PSG must make in the 2022 summer transfer window.

Moves PSG need to make in 2022 summer transfer window

Do everything they can to keep Kylian Mbappe

When Messi joined this team, the reactions were incredible.

Neymar Jr. and Mbappe were joined by one of the best players ever, and the assumption was that PSG's attacking trio would finally bring the Champions League title to Paris. Expectations were at least somewhat tempered when Mbappe asked for a transfer to Real Madrid around nine months before his contract expired. Madrid reportedly offered over €200 million, but PSG went all-in on the MNM trio.

Now, they are in serious danger of losing the French superstar. The collapse against Real Madrid did not help matters, especially if the Spanish team ends up winning the Champions League. However, PSG still have a chance.

Without a doubt, PSG can provide more money to Mbappe than anyone else. There have already been reports about a €50 million salary for the striker, together with a €100 million sign-on bonus. Apparently, Mbappe is still mulling the decision and it is between PSG and Real Madrid, but PSG can offer him something no one else can—the chance to win the Champions League for a French team.

Get an attacking-minded midfielder

It is difficult to pinpoint the weak spot of PSG.

Unfortunately for them, Angel Di Maria leaving could create huge problems going forward. A key attacker who can play on both wings and in the midfield, he gave PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino options this season when some of his players were not available. There's still a chance Di Mario returns to PSG, but it has grown increasingly slim.

Thus, PSG should put a lot of emphasis on getting a Di Maria-esque player in the lineup for next season. Thankfully for them, they have an ideal option that will be available for free, coming out of Serie A.

Of course, it would be Juventus' Paulo Dybala. He has his negative sides, like injuries, but he is still a great player. Interestingly enough, despite a tricky contract situation and rash of injuries, Dybala is still Juventus' best scorer, with 10 goals in Serie A and 15 overall. PSG could use his experience, as Dybala was part of the 2017 Juventus team that made it to the Champions League final. If he can stay healthy, Dybala could be a better version of Di Maria.

Another potential option, although less likely, would be Isco. Isco has not played a ton for Real Madrid in the past few seasons, but when he was featured, the Spanish veteran impressed. PSG could definitely use a creative midfielder like Isco and he is also available for a free transfer.

Get Zinedine Zidane as coach

Hiring French legend Zinedine Zidane as coach could be the move that convinces Mbappe to stay with PSG. However, that is not the only or even key reason why PSG should be doing everything to bring in Zidane.

It is clear to everyone involved that Pochettino is leaving the club come season's end. He is a good coach for sides like Tottenham, but it was shown that PSG might be a step too high for the Argentinian. Still, a title in France and likely a very rich severance check will be a good way to leave the club, at least for Poch.

Zidane is a three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid and the only coach who has won the league three times in a row since its rebranding in 1992. That level of experience is unmatched by any coach who could even potentially be available this summer.

The main reason why Zidane should be the only option to replace Pochettino at PSG is the sheer respect he will get from every player. Players will look at his historic resumé and instantly revere a coach who has enjoyed consistent success at the highest levels.
