It's an exciting time to be a fan of the Buffalo Bills. The franchise is shaping up to be one of the best teams in the league this year with Josh Allen leading the way. This could finally be the year where Buffalo takes home a championship. However, to do so, the team will need multiple guys to step up. For that reason, we look at three potential breakout players for the Bills in the upcoming 2022 season.

The superstars are going to shine. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs have it locked down on the offensive end, while Von Miller and Tre'Davious White lead the way for the defense. Even so, the Bills are going to need some players to make an impact in the upcoming season. Luckily for them, the roster is riddled with legitimate talent.

Additionally, the Bills have a third-year wide receiver who has the potential to become a legitimate star in the league. Bills Breakout Players For 2022 NFL Season

3. Kaiir Elam

The Bills' first-round selection Kaiir Elam finds himself in a favorable situation to begin his career. Not only is he playing for a Super Bowl contender, but he is in line to make an immediate impact on his new team. Elam is set to be one of the starting cornerbacks and could be given a larger role if Tre'Davious White's injury lingers in the beginning portion of the upcoming season.

Kaiir Elam proved to be a reliable option in the secondary throughout his collegiate career. During his tenure at the University of Florida, the rookie cornerback finished with 78 total tackles, 20 pass deflections, and five interceptions. He shapes up to be a future lockdown cornerback, which is exactly what the Bills need on defense. Keep an eye on this kid, as he could take the league by storm during his rookie campaign.

2. James Cook

Buffalo made some noise in the second round of the NFL Draft this year after selecting James Cook. The rushing attack has been mediocre at best, as Josh Allen has been the most consistent option out of the backfield. However, the Bills suddenly have an intriguing group with Cook likely splitting carries with Devin Singletary. With how prominent the passing attack is for this offense, the rookie running back has a chance to be an extra receiver for Allen.

James Cooks is a bit on the smaller side, however, his skill set makes him a dangerous satellite back for Buffalo. Although Josh Allen doesn't check down often, the coaching staff will likely draw up plays specifically with Cook in mind. Cook expands the playbook and can make the Bills an even more dangerous team than they already are.

1. Gabriel Davis

After having a monster game in the postseason, Gabriel Davis earned respect from the coaching staff. Many were hoping for the Bills to acquire a talented receiver to pair with Stefon Diggs, however, Buffalo already has one in Davis. He's spent the past two years playing a minimal role while developing as a wide receiver. Now, the third-year pass option has his chance to shine.

Considering Josh Allen is throwing him the ball, Gabriel Davis should be on everybody's radar. Opposing defenses are going to struggle slowing this kid down. Especially considering most of their attention will be on Stefon Diggs. Davis has the potential to be one of the league's best second-option wide receivers in the league and help the Bills on their Super Bowl run.
