In light of the recent injury news swirling around Derrick Henry, the Tennessee Titans might consider making a trade for a running back before the 2021 NFL Trade Deadline. They have until 4 pm on November 2nd. which means the front office has a limited amount of time to make a deal happen.
It's important to note that the Titans are more likely to sign a free agent running back instead. They're already working out veteran Adrian Peterson and could be looking at Todd Gurley as well. However, the front office can't rule out a potential trade either.
Three running backs stand out as potential trade options. The chances of a deal coming to fruition are slim, but not impossible. There is a handful of running backs on the trade block the Titans could attempt to pick up. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. With that said, here are three running backs the Titans should trade for before the 2021 NFL Trade Deadline.

Potential Titans Trades
3. Ronald Jones Jr.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a decent rush attack but it's not great. They seem to rely on Leonard Fournette more often than not while Ronald Jones Jr. sits on the bench waiting his turn. For whatever reason, Bruce Arians refuses to utilize the talented running back, as he has much more confidence in Fournette.
Ronald Jones has been incredibly efficient with his rushing opportunities. He's a tough runner and has the durability to work as an all-around rusher out of the backfield. Jones would be a great fit for the Titans, as he'd be a reliable replacement until Derrick Henry's return.
This might be the least likely, as Miles Sanders is still considered to be the starting running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the Eagles don't use him much in their game plans and he's been out with an injury as well.
Miles Sanders could return to the Eagles and take over as the starting running back once again. However, this would be a smart trade for the Titans, as they'd receive a young starting-caliber running back looking to prove himself. He is ruled out for another week or two, but the Titans would have a reliable running back in the backfield once he returns.
Khalil Herbert has come out of nowhere as a reliable running back for the Chicago Bears. So much so, Chicago could consider trading away David Montgomery. The Bears aren't going to win the Super Bowl and are still a few key pieces from becoming a legitimate playoff contender. Trading Montgomery for a draft pick could be a smart move for this franchise.
For the Titans, acquiring David Montgomery before the 2021 NFL Trade Deadline would be brilliant. He's a solid runner who hasn't quite been utilized correctly in Chicago so far. Once he's healthy, Montgomery could become a reliable option for Tennessee for the remainder of this season. We'll see what happens though, as the Bears might be more inclined to keep Montgomery and Herbert rostered together.
