Ndamukong Suh is one of the top free agents remaining on the NFL free agency market. It has been an intriguing offseason for Suh, to say the least, but a late free agency signing may be the best move for him.
Teams that missed out on finding big addition for their defensive lines will now turn to Suh. He could turn things into a bidding war between a few different teams. There are quite a few franchises that could use more size on the defensive line and Suh is ready to answer their calls.
Last season with the Los Angeles Rams, Suh ended up recording 59 total tackles to go along with 4.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and four defended passes. Those numbers show why quite a few teams should come calling for Suh.
At 32 years old, Suh is without question capable of making a major impact for whoever signs him. Gone are the days of drama where he would stomp on players and get ejected from games. He has calmed down quite a bit and is now simply focused on playing the best football that he can.
Let's dive in and take a look at the three teams that should be looking to sign Suh late in free agency.
3. Seattle Seahawks
Pete Carroll and the Seahawks have been needing defensive line help throughout the entire offseason. They also need more pass rushing after trading away Frank Clark. Suh could help in both departments.
Suh has been capable of getting to the quarterback throughout his entire career. He may not be an elite pass rusher, but he is capable of bolstering the Seahawks' pass rush. They have plenty of money to spend and they should try to throw a big chunk of it at Suh.
2. Indianapolis Colts
Next up, Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts seem like a perfect fit for Suh at this point. They have a ton of money and could still use some improvement in the middle of their defensive line. Ballard has been open and honest about wanting “good guys” in the locker room and Suh fits the bill now that he has grown up and matured.
The Colts are one of the NFL's hottest teams this offseason. They appear ready to make a run in the playoffs and adding Suh would certainly help their cause.
1. New England Patriots
Finally, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are without question the best possible destination that Suh could find this offseason. If they can come up with the right amount of money, New England would be able to offer Suh a big role as well as the chance to compete for a Super Bowl.
Tom Brady and company are not getting any younger and the Patriots need to add as much talent as they can. On the defensive side of the ball, they could still use a little more help. Ndamukong Suh has made plenty of money throughout his career and should now focus on finding the best fit to win a ring.
