Jason Witten wants to play at least one more season, and while he hopes he can spend the 2020 NFL campaign with the Dallas Cowboys, he understands there is a chance that may not happen.

As a result, Witten is open to playing for other clubs, and with so many teams being in need of a tight end, Witten should draw some interest, even with the future Hall-of-Famer turning 38 years old in May.

Witten is coming off of a 2019 season in which he caught 63 passes for 529 yards and four touchdowns, so clearly, he can still produce.

Here are three squads who should pursue Witten if he doesn't return to the Cowboys.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have a terrific receiving corps comprised of DJ Chark, Dede Westbrook and Chris Conley, but they are pretty thin at the tight end position.

In fact, Jacksonville's most productive tight end this past season was James O'Shaughnessy, who played in just five games and finished with 14 catches for 153 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Gardner Minshew already has multiple deep threats, not to mention a running back in Leonard Fournette who emerged as a solid pass-catcher in 2019, but he doesn't have much over the middle of the field.

Jason Witten could step in and provide a steady presence for Minshew while also opening up the Jags' impressive group of young receivers down the field.

The Jaguars could be sleeper playoff contenders heading into 2020, so they could be of interest to Witten, and vice versa.

2. Chicago Bears

Trey Burton was one of the biggest busts at his position in 2019, totaling just 14 grabs following a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 54 receptions for 569 yards and six scores.

Of course, the Bears as a whole were massively disappointing this past year, but one of the biggest reasons for their disastrous season was their lack of offensive weapons.

Obviously, Mitchell Trubisky has his own issues he needs to work through, but Chicago isn't exactly doing him any favors with the cast of characters it has placed around him.

While Witten is certainly not what he once was, he could at least serve as a reliable target for Trubisky in short-yardage situations, and in spite of his old age, we know that Witten does not miss games.

Jason Witten definitely won't put the Bears over the top, but he would absolutely improve their stunted offense.

1. New England Patriots

The Patriots would probably prefer to get younger at tight end and bring in someone like Austin Hooper or Hunter Henry to fill the gaping hole, but if New England misses out on those two studs, it can turn to Witten.

Witten had the type of year in 2019 that Rob Gronkowski had during his final season in 2018.

He isn't a gamebreaker by any stretch of the imagination (not that he ever was), but the Pats unequivocally could have used Witten's sure hands in their Wild Card Round loss to the Tennessee Titans last month.

Jason Witten would really only be a good signing if Tom Brady returns, but the assumption here is that Brady will be back in Foxborough next season, so in that case, Witten makes a whole lot of sense.
