Capcom revealed a new Resident Evil Village teaser, giving us more hints on what will happen in the next installment in the series.

The short teaser trailer showed us a lot of new details even with its brief duration. However, fans have to be eagle-eyed and actually pause and take the details in to make sense of what's happening. We're more than happy to break down what we've found so far with you.

 

1. Stuck in a mansion

While it seemed at first that we will be exploring a whole new village (hence the title) in this game, the new Resident Evil Village teaser seems to tell us otherwise. The teaser featured a mansion extensively, which gives us an idea of where we'll be spending most of our time in the game. It also showed different parts of the mansion, including what seemed like a torture dungeon.

Just how much of the game will we be spending in this mansion compared to the village outside? Since the game is set in a harsh, cold, winter, getting inside a warm and cozy mansion is a good thing. It's just that we'll have to share it with some unsavory beings. Speaking of unsavory creatures…

2. Tall vampire ladies

What many fans have been focusing on are the tall, ‘vampire' ladies that appeared in the teaser. Noted Resident Evil superfan Sphere Hunter tweeted enthusiastically: ‘THE VAMPIRE LADY IS ACTUALLY EXTREMELY TALL!!!'

These vampire ladies seem to own the mansion seen in the trailer, and we confirm that there's more than just one of them. While we're still not sure that they really are vampires (which would mark the first time the Resident Evil series will have them), many people seem to believe so based on previous Resident Evil Village teaser trailers.

Will the vampires act like Nemesis or Mr. X did in previous Resident Evil games, stalking the player throughout the mansion? We sure do hope so. What powers do these vampires have? How dangerous are they? These are questions that we hope the Resident Evil showcase next week will answer.

3. Giant monsters, savage beasts, and locusts

Finally, we saw some enemies in this Resident Evil Village teaser. We somehow have a glimpse of what kind of creatures we will be dealing with. Gone are the days of fighting off hordes of slow-moving zombies. It looks like the virus mutated and gained the ability to turn people into savages, and even giant troll-like figures.

We also caught a very short glimpse of a woman covered by a swarm of what looked like insects. The woman seems to be one of the aforementioned vampires, but we're not exactly sure what the swarm is composed of. Vampires usually turn into bats, but why did the teaser show us what seemed like… locusts?

Resident Evil Village releases this 2021 on Windows, next-gen consoles

Resident Evil Village is one of our most anticipated PC games coming out this 2021. This teaser just makes us even more excited. Meanwhile, we're also still waiting for more information on the Resident Evil reboot film in the works. We're sure it'll be coming out before Resident Evil Village, making sure that the film will help up the game's sales.
