The New Orleans Saints did as anticipated in 2018. The Saints fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game in overtime to the score of 26-23. If you let a fan from New Orleans tell you why they lost, they'll say it because of the refs and the non-call in the fourth quarter. But in reality, the Saints had plenty of opportunities to seize the game and they didn't.

A player who had another great season was Alvin Kamara. Kamara is probably the Saints' most important weapon as he is a threat in the rushing and passing attack.

In his second season in the NFL, Kamara rushed for 883 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2018. In addition to that, he had 81 receptions for 709 yards and five touchdowns through the air.

It was the second straight season that the Saints' dynamic running back had 81 receptions and 1,500+ yards from scrimmage. There's no doubt that Kamara is one of the most electrifying players in the NFL.

During this offseason, Kamara lost his running mate in Mark Ingram but will now have Latavius Murray to help handle the workload.

Here are three way-too-early bold predictions for Kamara in 2019.

3. 250+ Carries

In the two seasons that Kamara has played in the NFL, it seems like Sean Payton is trying to keep him fresh throughout the season. As a result, Kamara doesn't carry the ball as much as other typical star running backs.

The Saints running back may not be big in stature, but he can pack a punch for his size. He's also very elusive and agile in the running game with his quick feet.

In 2017, Kamara had only 120 carries on the ground. Although, he did have 728 yards for a whopping 6.1 yards per carry.

In 2018, his carries went up from 120 to 194. That is more than the previous year but it still isn't up to par as other starting running backs in the NFL.

Payton will let Kamara loose in 2019 by allowing him to handle 250 or more carries in 2019. The offense is way more dynamic with him in it and giving him more touches in the running game allows him to create even more.

2. 100+ Receptions

The best trait in Kamara's game is arguably his ability to catch the ball. In his two seasons in New Orleans, he has 162 receptions, 1,535 yards, and nine touchdowns in the aerial attack.

Drew Brees loves to use Kamara as a check down in the passing game very often. A three-yard pass can turn into a 20-yard gain when getting the ball into the Pro Bowl running back's hands.

With Brees continuing to age as a quarterback, he'll likely continue to turn to Kamara as his security blanket. Resultantly, Kamara will be able to catch even more passes in 2019.

In two seasons in the NFL, Kamara has 81 catches in both seasons but will surpass the 100 reception mark in the upcoming season.

1. 2,000 Yards From Scrimmage

Every team in the NFL is searching for a running back who is capable of being a dual-threat back in the offense. The Saints lucked out by finding a guy who fit the bill in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Since then, their offense has been nearly unstoppable when Kamara is on the field. In his rookie season, Kamara had 1,554 yards from scrimmage.

He followed that up by gashing opposing defenses for 1,592 yards from scrimmage in 2018. Kamara is going to improve even more in 2019 by eclipsing the 2,000-yard threshold.

Last season, there were only two running backs to reach 2,000 yards from scrimmage. Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliott were the only two to reach the feat.

You can add Kamara's name to the list of running backs who have accomplished 2,000 yards from scrimmage in 2019.
