With Paul Pogba set to leave Manchester United this summer, a slew of top clubs have the midfielder in their sights ahead of the summer transfer window. The free-agent midfielder has been linked to some of the world's biggest clubs and will surely collect a massive payday at his next destination. After what was an up-and-down stint with Manchester United, Pogba could secure a move out of England, though he's also received plenty of interest from Premier League sides as well. With all that in mind, here are the four Paul Pogba destinations that make the most sense this summer.

Pogba, who was a Manchester United academy player, was shipped away to Juventus at a young age, when he first began to make a name for himself. After impressing in the Serie-A for four seasons, winning four consecutive domestic cups, Manchester United paid a whopping $115 million to bring the midfielder back to Old Trafford in 2016.

Since returning to the club, Pogba has had a tumultuous stint in Manchester. The Red Devils have not won the league since his arrival and he's often been linked with a move away. In all, Pogba featured in 157 matches for Manchester United in the Premier League, starting 138 games. He scored 29 goals and provided 38 assists throughout his tenure at the club, which is expected to come to an end on Sunday.

So, without further ado, here are the four best destinations for Paul Pogba this summer.

4 best Paul Pogba destinations in summer transfer window

4. Juventus

Pogba became a superstar at Juventus, so why not consider a return to the Italian giants? Juve would surely love to bring back the dynamic midfielder, especially after losing its grip on the Serie-A. No longer are they perennial champs of the division, finishing fourth this year behind AC Milan, Inter, and Napoli. Bringing back a player of Pogba's quality, without dumping off an enormous transfer fee, could be exactly what Juve needs to return to dominance. They still have plenty of talent on the roster and Pogba would slot back in as one of their key players. The fit makes sense, but it remains to be seen if Juve is ready to match Pogba's ambitions in the immediate future, especially with various players, including Paulo Dybala, possibly on the way out.

3. Manchester City

While this would be a big slap to the face of Manchester United, there's arguably no team better positioned to win the Champions League and the Premier League in 2022-23. After the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City has solved their most glaring issue on the roster. Adding a box-to-box midfielder such as Pogba would be another big boost to the already-star-studded team, and he would make them seemingly unbeatable. The 29-year-old never managed to win a Premier League title at Manchester United, but a move to their cross-town rivals could make that dream a reality within a single season. If Pogba does elect to stay in England, Manchester City would be the perfect club to match his ambitions.

2. PSG

If Paul Pogba is looking to rake in the biggest contract possible, PSG seems like the obvious choice. Pogba, a French international, would be able to play in his home nation's capital in Paris while competing in the Champions League, playing alongside some of the game's biggest stars in Neymar and Lionel Messi. PSG will surely throw a ton of money at Pogba to get him to sign, and if he's after a payday, this is the place to be. However, Pogba may not be so keen on the competition of Ligue 1. PSG are considered massive favorites to win the league each and every year, which adds pressure to their performance in the Champions League. With the domestic cup being a mere expectation, Pogba could be the piece PSG needs to finally take home the Champions League trophy.

1. Real Madrid

Pogba's links to Real Madrid have persisted since his Juventus days. When Manchester United signed him back in 2016, many thought the links would phase out, however that wasn't the case. Rumors of a move to Real Madrid were a constant throughout Pogba's tenure in Manchester, and they could well become a reality this summer. Real Madrid is working to secure the signing of Kylian Mbappe, but that won't be their only move this summer, and if they can add Pogba without paying a transfer fee for the star midfielder, that'd be a massive coup.
