Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers came into the 2019 NFL season looking to contend for a playoff spot. Not only did the team compete for a playoff team, the Packers finished the season with a 13-3 record to finish with the No. 2 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye.

Now, the Packers know who they are going to face. The Packers are going to face off against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field. Green Bay is facing a lot of criticism and many are predicting that they will end up dropping the home playoff game.

Despite the criticism, the Packers have remained competitive. They have full confidence that they can make a run at the Super Bowl. Everything will start this week with a Sunday evening showdown with a team that they have had trouble with in the playoffs over the years.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at four reasons why the Packers will defeat the Seahawks.

4. The Seahawks Don't Have A Consistent Run Game

Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they are without both Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, who were both key factors in their offense prior to their injuries. Travis Homer has filled in decently and Marshawn Lynch is a threat, but their running game isn't consistent at all.

Against a defense capable of rushing the passer and making plays in the secondary, the running game is needed. Seattle may come through with a surprising game on the ground, but it would be a surprise. If the Packers can contain Seattle's ground game, they should have a good all-around performance.

3. The Packers' Pass Rush Can Contain Russell Wilson

Next up, the pass rush has been a threat all season long for the Packers. Preston and Za'Darius Smith signed lucrative contracts last offseason with Green Bay and the money has paid off in a big way.

From the last couple of years of having trouble getting to opposing quarterbacks to being lethal, the Packers feel that their pass rush is a major advantage. Wilson has made a living off of getting outside the defense and making plays with his legs, but the Smith's should be able to contain him fairly well. The Packers must keep Wilson in the pocket in order to pull off this win.

2. Aaron Rodgers Is Still Capable Of Big Games

Another major storyline to follow for the Packers is which version of Aaron Rodgers the team will get on Sunday. Rodgers has received a ton of criticism this season for missed throws and looking like he is aging. On the big stage of the playoffs, Rodgers can completely shut his doubters up once again.

Rodgers has shown the vintage side of himself that fans have come to know and expect at times this season. Seattle has a solid defense, but Rodgers should be able to have a solid all-around game.

1. Green Bay's Secondary Can Slow Down DK Metcalf And Company

Finally, the Seahawks saw rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf go off for seven catches, 160 receiving yards, and a touchdown in their Wild Card matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. They also have another lethal weapon in Tyler Lockett. Green Bay feels good about their secondary and their ability to stick with the Seahawks' offensive weapons.

Names like Jaire Alexander, Kevin King, and Darnell Savage Jr. must show up with big games. Adrian Amos needs to step up and be a leader for the secondary. The Packers are going to make life difficult for the Seahawks' receivers and that might just lead to a big-time win.
