The Jacksonville Jaguars have shockingly endured 10 losing seasons in their last 11 campaigns, though the 2021 season seemed to be a particularly eye-opening year. The Jaguars finished 3-14, securing the number one pick in the NFL Draft for the second consecutive campaign, though it was the way they did it that was especially embarrassing.

One-and-done head coach Urban Meyer was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, heading out to a night club after a loss, then creating one of the most bizarre- and toxic- work cultures the NFL has ever seen. Needless to say, the Jaguars couldn't move on from Meyer soon enough.

Not only did his brief tenure set the franchise back even further, but it also hurt last year's number-one overall pick Trevor Lawrence's year-one development. That's why the Jaguars turned to a former Super Bowl-winning head coach who has enjoyed success in the NFL: former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson.

But the Jaguars weren't done there. Armed with a significant amount of cap space, the Jags went out and brought in talent on both sides of the ball, such as wide receiver Christian Kirk, guard Brandon Scherff, linebacker Foyesade Oluokun and cornerback Darious Williams.

In addition to first-round picks Travon Walker and Devin Lloyd, there's hope that Jacksonville will be better on the defensive end in the 2022 NFL season.

If Pederson can coax a better season out of Lawrence, things could be looking up for the Jaguars for the first time in a long time. That said, here are four way too early predictions for the Jaguars in the 2022 NFL season.

Jaguars Way Too Early Predictions For 2022 NFL Season

4. The Jaguars rank inside the top-20 in points allowed

This might not be that much of a prediction, though Duval County would be jumping for joy if the Jags fielded a defense that even showed signs of life.

However, Jacksonville will do more than that in 2022. The linebackers, with tackle machine Oluokun, Walker, Lloyd and Josh Allen, should be the most improved positional group on the defense.

The cornerback group, which includes Shaquill Griffin, Tyson Campbell and Williams, has the potential to be solid.

The Jaguars have ranked in the bottom-five in points allowed in eight of the last 10 seasons. Clearly, a defensive turnaround is paramount to the Jags' success.

They will be a much-improved unit in 2022.

3. Travis Etienne tallies over 500 rushing and receiving yards

The second of last year's two first-round picks, Travis Etienne seemed poised for a strong rookie year, though it was not to be. Etienne suffered a season-ending foot injury in the preseason, ending his rookie season before it started.

However, there's no doubt that Etienne, who excelled as both a runner and pass-catcher, will have a big role in the offense if healthy.

Early reports out of OTAs suggest that the Jaguars are planning on using him in a variety of ways. That means that the Clemson product should expect a hefty amount of touches in his first year.

He will flash the skills that made him a first-round pick, exceeding 500 rushing and receiving yards in the 2022 NFL season.

2. Trevor Lawrence has a breakout season

Trevor Lawrence disappointed in 2022, throwing for 3614 yards with 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. It was not what a number-one overall pick should look like, especially one as highly touted as Lawrence was coming out of Clemson.

However, it wasn't exactly an environment built to produce a successful season. Urban Meyer proved to be the exact opposite of a leader in Lawrence's rookie year, drumming up a phony quarterback competition, appearing to throw Lawrence under the bus and even going against his own public relations advice to the rookie.

It's amazing that Lawrence isn't scarred from the experience. He'll go from that to working with Doug Pederson, who coaxed some really good quarterback play out of both Carson Wentz and Nick Foles during his time with the Eagles.

Potential benefits from having Pederson in his ear are already becoming apparent for Lawrence, who sees his former head coach as a sounding board of sorts, given that Pederson played quarterback in the NFL.

It's potentially the start of a beautiful relationship. One that might just coax a breakout year out of Lawrence.

1. The Jaguars will win more than 4 games in 2022

4 games. That's how many games the Jaguars won in 2020 and 2021 combined. Over the last four seasons, Jacksonville has averaged 3.7 wins per season.

In 2022, they will enjoy a bounce-back campaign. With an improved defense and better quarterback play, the Jaguars will give Duval County hope for the future in 2022.

Pederson's Jaguars will win more than four games in 2022.
