San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is entering only his second year in the NFL and although he isn't a household name around the league yet that could all change pretty soon.

Matt Barrows of the Athletic who has been at the 49ers practice has taken notice that Kittle has become a favorite target for Jimmy Garoppolo. Kittle was one of the wide receivers that attended Garoppolo's players-only practices this offseason, and it seems to be paying dividends so far this season.

Last year Kittle finished with 43 receptions for 515 yards and two touchdowns. He dealt with nagging injuries most of the season but coming into this season he is feeling a lot healthier, and with the extra practice with Garoppolo he is primed for a big season.

Garoppolo has been impressed with Kittle's willingness to go the extra mile to get better, and it has shown with his improvements.

“I think George is one of those guys that puts in a lot of extra work,” Garoppolo said Sunday. “Whether it’s staying after practice, talking in film sessions, he always asks me questions about his routes and stuff like that. That whole tight end group as a whole, we stayed today after practice just going over some finer, little details that will make a difference on Sunday.”

If this will translate to the field on Sunday's is still to be seen, but it sure seems that Kittle is going to have a lot of balls thrown his way come the regular season.
