The San Francisco 49ers have a slew of tough games ahead of them, and they will need all the talent they can muster. Tight end George Kittle hopes to be on the field by the time his team plays the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

The 26-year-old has practiced with the team for the first time this week since sustaining injuries on his knee and ankle. He feels confident that he'll be able to return to side sooner than later.

“It went really well,” Kittle said, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner. “It was definitely a step in the right direction. It was really fun being back out there with the guys. I definitely don't miss sitting in the training room all day, so definitely a good step in the right direction and the goal is definitely still Green Bay.”

Kittle has had a solid season for the 49ers so far. He's caught the ball 46 times for 541 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He's always been a fixture on the field whenever he's available and will be a boon for Jimmy Garoppolo if he does make it back in time.

His recovery is also an important matter for the 49ers as they play the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints after the Packers. Given the quality these teams have on offense, it's important for Kyle Shanahan to have all of his best talents on the field, and that list has Kittle on the list.

Of course, everything still depends on his recovery and the decision of Shanahan and the medical team. If he's still too vulnerable to play, there's no question that he won't be activated to play. However, it would mean the world for 49ers fans if he does suit up in time.
