Lost in the chaos of the finish to the Green Bay Packers – San Francisco 49ers classic on Sunday night was all the injuries that seemed to be piling up for both teams.
One of those was to Josh Norman, who was taken to the hospital after suffering a chest injury and spitting up blood. Thankfully for the 49ers' cornerback, all the test results came back fine.
Norman had been elevated to a fairly large role with the 49ers in their secondary after they had just signed him in the beginning of September.
The veteran cornerback for the 49ers recorded a tackle and a forced fumble during the first half before exiting the contest.
The game itself turned out to be as good as advertised. Green Bay led 17-0 out of the gates but it was the 49ers who took a 28-27 lead with 37 seconds left. Aaron Rodgers would connect with Davante Adams twice in the final 37 seconds to set up the eventual game-winning kick as time expired by Mason Crosby.
Thankfully, it sounds as though Norman has avoided a serious injury based on the tests results coming back okay. Whether or not he's able to suit back up right away for the 49ers is another question to be tackled throughout the week.
The road certainly won't get easier for the 49ers as they will play the Seattle Seahawks next week before hitting the road to take on the Arizona Cardinals after that.
