The San Francisco 49ers may be 6-0, but there are are some holes in their offense that certainly need work.

One area of concern is wide receiver, and the 49ers made an attempt to patch up the issue earlier this week, acquiring veteran wideout Emmanuel Sanders in a trade with the Denver Broncos.

Even though Sanders barely knows San Francisco's playbook, head coach Kyle Shanahan expects him to see the field quite a bit when the Niners take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday:

“He’s going to play a lot,” said Shanahan, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

As for Sanders learning the 49ers' offense? Shanahan thinks he will be just fine:

“It’s always tough for people and it takes all year for guys to get used to it, especially when you miss the foundation in the offseason,” Shanahan said. “But it really helps him being with [Broncos offensive coordinator Rich] Scangarello in Denver, so a lot of it is very similar, so he’s able to kind of jump in right away and make some mistakes as it goes.

“But at least he was able to get in there right away and do some things where, most guys, they’d be really overwhelmed. It would take them some time. Still a huge challenge for him, but he’s definitely got as good of a head start as he could.”

Through seven games this season, Sanders has logged 30 catches for 367 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The fact that Sanders is even playing at all at this point is amazing, as the 32-year-old tore his Achilles last December, a typically debilitating injury that generally takes around a year to fully heal.

But, Sanders has been available since Week 1 and has been very productive.
