The San Francisco 49ers were able to get Nick Bosa back onto the field in their Week 1 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Heading into this week, Bosa is considered questionable to suit up versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

Prior to Sunday, Bosa had just recovered from a sprained ankle that he suffered in one of the first practices in training camp. After recovering from the injury, the rookie defensive end was able to play in 38 of the 69 defensive snaps in Week 1.

On one of the first plays of Sunday's game against Buccaneers, Bosa reaggravated his ankle injury. Despite the injury, Bosa was able to tally three tackles, and a sack in his first career start in the NFL.

Injuries have been an underlying issue for Bosa, dating back to his days at Ohio State. In his final season at Ohio State, the talented pass rusher missed the majority of the year with a ‘core' injury.

Most people believed that Bosa was going to make a return to Ohio State later in the season, but the injury was worse than initially thought. Therefore, the highly touted edge-rusher shifted his focus to the NFL Draft.

The 49ers selected Bosa with the second overall pick in this year's draft after the Arizona Cardinals selected Kyler Murray ahead of them. Since his arrival in San Francisco, Bosa's injury concerns have carried over from college with him struggling to remain on the practice field.

The 49ers will be looking for their second win of the season on Sunday, but they have to do so without their rookie defensive end.
